Why Godly Connections Help To Maintain Your Deliverance and Destiny
The ancient craft of blacksmithing holds a powerful spiritual lesson we've been overlooking. When a blacksmith needed to sharpen a blade, they didn't just hope it would somehow become sharper on its own—they used another piece of iron, creating the perfect edge through intentional contact and friction.
This profound principle from Proverbs 27:17, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another," reveals why community isn't just beneficial but essential for your spiritual journey. In this enlightening episode, we break down the blacksmithing metaphor to uncover four key ways godly connections transform us: realignment with our destiny, sharpening our gifts, maintaining our spiritual edge, and bringing about necessary reformation.
Many believers struggle after experiencing deliverance or breakthrough because they attempt to maintain it alone. The truth is, you cannot sharpen yourself any more than a knife can sharpen itself. God designed us for community precisely because He knew the maintenance phase of our spiritual growth requires others. This episode explores how to discern which connections are divinely appointed to sharpen you and which might be dulling your edge.
Are you trying to achieve spiritual growth in isolation? Stop going it alone. Embrace the spiritual technique of iron sharpening iron and surrender to the community God has prepared for you. Your breakthrough might be just one relationship away. Listen now, and discover how the right connections can maintain your deliverance and realign you to your God-given purpose.
Hey everyone, welcome back to Faith Bits with Allie. I'm your host, allie, with your daily faith bit. If you're listening to this podcast, it's because you desire kingdom, alignment and walking in the will of God. Listening to the episodes and getting wisdom is great, but at some point you have to apply what you learn. Now I've emphasized the importance of community on a few episodes already.
Speaker 1:Proverbs 27.17 tells us that, such as iron sharpens iron, people sharpen one another. Let's break this down a bit Realignment and sharpness. So by rubbing two pieces of iron together or using a file that was made of iron on a blade, blacksmiths were able to realign the metal of the edge, making it sharper. So it's time for you to find community that will rightly align you to your destiny and further sharpen what's on the inside of you. Also, one way to maintain your deliverance Community, godly connections. You see, the process of iron sharpening iron wasn't just about making a blade sharper, but also about maintaining its edge and reforming its shape. Blacksmiths would maintain and improve the edges of tools and weapons by a technique where they rubbed or hammered the tools together. So I think it's safe to say that godly community is meant to realign, sharpen, maintain our edge and bring about reformation. So it's time for us to embrace this spiritual technique of iron sharpening iron and embrace the people God sends our way.
Speaker 1:Let me pray for you, lord. I thank you for rightly aligning us back to your will, removing all hindrances and barriers. I pray that we have spiritual discernment to know good from bad, to be able to see those that you've sent our way and embrace them, and discern when the enemy has sent people our way. God, I pray that we would be connected to a community of people that love and honor you, and so we get out of our own way, no longer trying to heal or go through deliverance or get that breakthrough on our own. We no longer try to do it out of our own strength, but we yield and we surrender and we embrace those that you have sent our way. Thank you for those that you are sending to realign, to sharpen, to help us maintain our deliverance and help bring about reformation in our lives. In Jesus' name I pray Amen, peace, love and blessings.
