Introduction and Identity in Christ
Speaker 1Hey everyone , welcome back to Faith Bits with Allie . I'm your host , allie , with your daily faith bit . One thing we must remember as believers is that we are in this world , but we are not of it . Sometimes it seems that it's so easy to fall into sin and we try to justify it . Sin and we try to justify it because everybody else is doing it , but we are not everybody else .
Speaker 1When we chose Jesus , we came into a new life , so we are no longer that old version of ourself . We no longer belong to the former manners of life and the corrupt , deceitful desires , and we must realize that when we came into this new life , we are to be renewed in the spirit of our minds and to put on the new self , one that's created after the likeness and in true righteousness and holiness
The Deception of Justified Sin
Speaker 1of God . And so for so many people , that can be hard to realize , because they're looking at people who are proclaiming Christianity but they're in sin and they're telling you it's okay , you know , god sees my heart , but you're right , god sees your heart and our hearts are deceitful . If you think that God transformed you and that you could stay in sin and get away with it , you truly don't know God , because we are being perfected in God daily and he desires for us to come back to him wholeheartedly . You know we are to come as we are , but we aren't to stay in our sin , because wherever the Spirit of the Lord is , there is freedom , and so we have to be intentional about that pursuit . We have to say here I am God , clean me up and then surrender every aspect of our lives to him .

God's Promise During Temptation
Speaker 1Yes , there are battles that we deal with , but the Bible also says in 1 Corinthians 10.13 , that there is no temptation , regardless of its source , that has overtaken or enticed us . That is not common to the human experience . Nor is any temptation unusual or beyond the human resistance . He is compassionate and trustworthy and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability to resist , but along with the temptation he has in the past and is now and will always provide the way out as well , so that you will be able to endure it without yielding and will overcome temptation with joy . So there it is .

Closing Prayer for Transformation
Speaker 1look to him ? Let me pray for you , lord , it is our desire to be whole , to walk in righteousness and holiness , to walk in purity . We know that your word says that where sin abounds , grace abounds more , and so we just want to thank you , god , for the grace that you've shown us in our falling short . We come to you with a desire , though to be made christ-like . So if there's any flaws in us that has kept us in our old ways , our old thought patterns and old desires , we cast them to you . Today we put on our new self and we walk in righteousness and holiness and purity through Christ Jesus . In Jesus' name , I pray Amen , peace , love and blessings .
